  NEC Launches Widescreen Install Projector

By Manisha Kanetkar | Wednesday | 2007-10-17

NEC has unveiled its latest installation widescreen DLP projector, designed for the corporate, government or higher education markets.

With 4,500 lumens, WXGA (1280 x 768) native resolution, the NP4001 is NEC's first widescreen single chip DLP projector and is suitable for applications demanding high brightness and extended use functionality, the company says.

"The NEC NP4001 widescreen projector launches at a time when there is an increasing demand for wide-screen notebook computers. The NEC NP4001 projector meets this expanding market, while also delivering powerful functionality, flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of our customers. Command and control centres, training facilities, board rooms and lecture theatres are just a few of the many applications that the NP4001 projector is designed for," said NEC's Steven MacDonald.

The projector can be placed approximately 0.85 metres to 86.3 metres away from the screen due to its five operational lenses, the company says. It can also connect to a LAN via integrated RJ45 connection and centralised monitoring and adjustments to the projector are made possible due to remote diagnostics and network connectivity.

Also featuring Texas Instruments' BrilliantColour and proprietary DynamicBlack technology, the projector also features Eco-mode technology to extend the life of the lamp (by up to 50 percent) and the projector itself. A further lamp saving feature, according to NEC, includes a cooling fan that continues to run after the power source is disconnected.

The projector comes standard with a two-year limited warranty.

RRP: $10,899
