Another Big Upgrade For Chrome Now Faster & Smarter
0Overall Score

Four weeks after Google launched a new version 9 of their Chrome browser and only days after Firefox delivered a browser that is significantly faster than their previous version, Google has again moved to again upgrade their Chrome offering with the release of a version 10.

A new preference page makes it easy to sync  bookmarks, passwords, and other settings between each computer you run Chrome on, they have also increased the speed of their offering.

The new Chrome, which is significantly faster than Microsoft Explorer, includes a 66 percent improvement in JavaScript performance on the V8 benchmark suite — along with a completely revamped settings interface that replaces the usual window with a tab in the browser.

You can also import data from other browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer with just one click.

The layout of the preferences menu is much easier to use. It includes a search bar so you don’t have to go digging through tabs and options to find what you need.

For security, Google added what it calls “sandboxing” for each web page you open. This keeps all your tabs in a separate “sandbox” in case one of them crashes or contains a virus. That way everything is isolated and reduces the risk of crashing your entire browser or infecting your computer.

You can also now synchronize your saved passwords across different computers, and Google has extended its sandboxing technology to the integrated Flash player in Chrome, which promises to better guard against malicious websites. As usual, Google has also explained all of the improvements in some handy videos.
