“Keith Bowden Electrical has had a very proud history of serving South Australia for 47 years and has always tried to provide a family environment for staff and customers,” the company said last week in a statement.

“Heather, Graeme and Trevor Bowden are very disappointed that it has become evident that the company cannot continue to trade.”

There is “no prospect” of selling the business, which is a member of the Narta buying group.

The retailer has around 40 staff at its store location at 1133 South Rd, Adelaide.

Tim Clifton of Clifton Hall has been appointed voluntary administrator and will take control of the company immediately.

Customers who have paid for goods but not taken delivery will be able to make delivery arrangements with the Administrator, Mr Graeme Bowden confirmed.

Customers with outstanding orders are likely not be fulfilled, the retailer also indicated. Customers had not paid deposits, in the majority of these cases.
