Jobs revealed the product during his address at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.

The Pro runs on two of Intel’s 2.66GHz dual-core Xeon processors, which means it will be capable of running twice as quickly as other Power Macs, which it supercedes.

Apple claims it will offer better performance, greater expansion capability, higher performance graphic options and greater customisation.

· 250GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 7200rpm
· 16x SuperDrive with double-layer support
· Four PCI Express slots
· One double-wide graphics slow
· Three full-length expansion slots

The RRP is $US2499. More information at www.apple.com.au
