LED displays, folding shelves, smart sensors: Samsung unveil new bottom mount refrigerators

Among the features are 5 X intelligent sensors that monitor use and temperature, customisable storage with a triple foldable shelf system, bright LED control display and lighting.

The Samsungs also boast an impressive 3.5 Star Energy rating, adjustable door guards, and a railed crisper drawer to store food at the optimum temperature.

There are three models: the top end SRL448DLS, SRL450ELS, SRL449EW, costing from $2,099 to $1,599.

The SRL448DLS also features a refillable water dispenser and layered steel, as does the mid-tier SRL450ELS, which is fingerprint resistant, with the same look and feel as stainless steel, say its maker.

All models have a long bar handle on the outside with a comfortable grip and a contour door design.

“Samsung’s research has found that Australians are moving away from the traditional refrigerator design, and are seeking fridge and freezer combinations that are energy efficient, reliable and customisable,” said Mike Lilly, Samsung’s Head of Home Appliances.

“With the refrigerator recently being named the number one most significant invention in the history of food and drink – Samsung continues to push the boundaries of design and innovation with the launch of the new bottom mount refrigerator range.”

The new Samsung bottom mounts are available now and Samsung is offering a 10 year parts warranty on the Digital Inverter Compressor, to provide extra peace of mind to all consumers.
