Unveiled at CES, the 7.9″ tab has confirmed pricing of A$249

Acer Iconia A1-830, 7.9-inch Android tablet with pretty impressive specs costs a cool $249, Acer has confirmed today, and is on sale now. 


The 7.9″ tablet has a LED-backlit IPS display (1024 x 768 resolution), powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 1.6GHz processor (Clover Trail+)  and 1GB of onboard LPDDR2 SDRAM.

Its also got the other usual bells and whistles: Wi-Fi, 16GB of storage, microSD supports cards up to 32GB, facing camera  1080p HD video recording and front facing (1600 x 1200) cam with 720p. 

It cost $199 in the US, so at $249 its not a bad price down under, NZ$299. 
The 7.9″ Android tab runs the new 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and has a 7.5 hours battery life, Acer claims.
The thin tablet weights 372 gram and is 8.15mm thin, has an aluminium rear cover and a metal mid-frame. 
Iconia A1-830 also boasts rich stereo sound from its dual speakers so good for streaming movies, watching online TV.

“It delivers much more than other tablets in this class with its vibrant IPS display, premium aluminium finish and great performance and sound.”

A variety of optional accessories including: Acer Crunch Keyboard ultra-slim keyboard built into a soft synthetic leather case. 
The keyboard (RRP $79.95) folds out while the case serves as a tablet stand. The 5.3 mm thin keyboard, offers Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity and is rechargeable via microUSB.
Acer also has a Crunch Cover for the new tablet- made with durable microfiber still giving access to all ports and folds out into a tablet stand with multiple angle settings. 
Other options include a protective case and protection film.
