Dropbox has sought to lift its market value, by launching a new partner ecosystem – ‘Dropbox Extensions’ – allowing users to access several third-party apps from inside its platform including; Adobe, DocuSign, Vimeo and Pixlr.

The extension will enable users to conduct several business tasks (e.g. eSignatures, video annotation and more) from inside Dropbox, without needing to download files or open external apps.

For example, users can take a contract from first to final draft [including signature], without uploading, downloading or scanning.

The first set of new integrations is scheduled to become generally available on November 27.

Watch in action below:

Dropbox SVP of Engineering, Product, and Design, Quentin Clark, claims the integration seeks to remove “friction” between business tasks:

“We want to empower people to choose the best tools for their work by removing the friction between them”

“So we’re making it seamless for users to connect with partners that offer the right tools for the task at hand.”

New partner integrations include applications from Adobe, Autodesk, DocuSign, Vimeo, airSlate, HelloSign, Nitro, Pixlr, and Smallpdf.

User tasks include digitally faxing a signed contract to its final destination, or editing files, again all from inside Dropbox.
