Epson is adding two inkjet printers to its WorkForce Pro printer range, the WF-C5290 and the WF-C5790, which have been designed to suit a range of vertical markets from schools to small business.

Epson says these new printers will help companies keep costs down considerably when compared to laser printers, providing savings of at least 62 per cent on cost per colour pages. These are also low-power units using fewer supplies and what Epson says is 96 per cent less energy than ‘comparable laser models’.

Epson says with these two printers, users can print up to 10,000 pages in monochrome or 5,000 in colour without needing to change supplies. The printers offer a zero second warm-up time, and a fast First Page Out Time  of less than seven seconds from sleep mode, meaning a printout is usually delivered by the time a user has got up from their workstation to collect it.

The printers have a 4800×1200 dpi colour print quality and the ability to print banners up to 1.2 metres.

Craig Heckenberg, general manager for sales and marketing – business division at Epson Australia says, “They are ideal for small businesses and companies who may have traditionally used laser printers and now want to cut costs, increase productivity, reduce downtime and be kinder to the environment.”
The printers also provide a platform to keep a mobile workforce on the move by supporting Wi-Fi, WiFi-Direct, Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint, as well as the Epson-connect app.

Software such as Email Print for Enterprise, Epson Print Admin, Document Capture Pro and Epson Device Admin means these new models are now so much more than just print and scan.

Epson says its Open Platform architecture, and its work with independent software vendors (ISVs), adds extra value by supporting cost recovery and follow-me solutions such as PaperCut print management software.

The WorkForce Pro WF-C5290 is priced at $299 and the WF-C5790 is priced at $499. Both are available now from selected Epson re-sellers across Australia.
