Integrate 2015 has commenced today, with 5,000 professionals from across the AV and business IT industries expected to converge on the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the three-day event.A range of AV technology will be on display at Integrate, now in its seventh year – from smart building technology, unified communication and collaboration, digital screens and signage, live events and education and entertainment technology.

Epson, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Sennheiser and Sony are among more than 120 exhibitors that will be showcasing 350 products, with more than 100 of the products set to launch in the Australian market.

Highlights of the event are set to include: Australia’s first holographic retail displays launching to market, and KNX City – an exhibit dedicated to the latest building and home automation technology, including the Internet of Things (IoT), while the latest in business collaborative communication technology will also be on display.

Among the exhibitors, Panasonic will be previewing its PT-RQ13K Extra 4K Series 3-chip DLP laser projector, which it states is the “most compact and lightweight projector of its kind in the world”, employing quad-pixel drive technology in delivering “extremely detailed, film-like extra 4K image quality”.

Panasonic will also preview its first open platform professional LCD display, which includes its new Android and HTML5-based embedded open platform, allowing “for easy porting of digital signage software to the displays, thus eliminating the need for external media players”.

Integrate will also provide the first opportunity for installers and integrators to experience architectural speaker brand Origin Acoustics’ product range.

Other products launching at Integrate include:

– Dreamoc 3D and 4D holographic displays by Real Vision Imports: enabling businesses to combine a physical product with 3D real-time generated holographic content that can be operated from a smartphone.

– Hager TS Wall Controller by KNX National Group of Australia: that will be part of KNX City, an understated black panel that sits flush with the wall, with up to eight functions allowing users to control lights, heating or blinds with a single touch.

– A wireless presentation system by Circle Box AXIS Audio Visual technology: designed to beam PC desktops to wireless tablets for collaborative and learning spaces.

– HUB Dimmer by Jands: enabling businesses to maximise the benefits of improvements in lighting technology, while adapting to new “green” requirements, allowing venues to integrate the control of stage power with a mixed inventory of LED and traditional lighting into the building management infrastructure.

The Integrate speaker series, which will run across the three days, will feature guest speakers from companies including Philips, Samsung and Telstra, who will discuss the current and future trends within the AV technology industry, providing analysis on how to converge disparate technologies to work as one solution.

Seminars will include: How to meet the workplace expectations of a mobile world, The connected retailer – how technology is connecting customers and brands, Design considerations for 4K systems – what you need to know, and The convergence of IoT and home automation.

The event will also see the Australian-first pilot program for the large-scale deployment of wireless communication device Diversified Scout, powered by Konduko.

“All visitors will be equipped with a near-field communication smart badge that interacts with the 300 readers to be distributed across exhibitors and their products,” Integrate event manager Soren Norgaard commented.

“This badge will enable people to simply swipe the reader to find out all the information about the product and have it sent directly to their email address. This also drastically changes the event for the exhibitors in terms of lead-generation as each swipe creates a database of people that are interested in their products that they can follow up during or after the event.

“Integrate is not an event where people come to look at static displays of technology products – it’s a chance for people to fully immerse themselves and experience the latest technology and, through this pilot program with Konduko, we will be able to create that experience from the moment people arrive.”
