The newest Galaxy has a 3.5-inch HVGA LCD display, 800MHz processor, and 5MP camera LED Flash, Stereo FM Radio as well as all the Google extras like Voice Search and ThinkFree document viewer and Android apps.

Memory wise Ace will hold 150MB + 2GB inbox up to 32GB micro SD card, says Samsung.

Its runs on Froyo 2.2 although Android lovers may want to hold back until next week’s launch of Galaxy s II on up to date Gingerbread 2.3, although admittedly the  S II is a high end device.

However, Ace has some very intelligent tools like a ‘Swype’ function which will predict what you are writing by simply swiping across keyboard.

For social networkers Ace runs ‘Social hub’ which allows users manage all their Twitter, Facebook messaging as well as social calendars in one inbox.

Ace also allows one-touch access to YouTube and Gmail and Navigon “turn-by-turn” premium navigation services which delivers 2D and 3D map s, voice guidance and intelligent address search. It also offers both drive and walk modes, handy  for pedestrians.

Its touch screen interface certainly looks clean and easy to use and has interchangeable black and white covers if you get bored of one colour.

And for business users wont be left short either and the device not just built for personal use, Samsung insist.

Ace has business applications, including Exchange Active Sync which synchronises email, calendar, and contacts and allows remote access.

The newest Galaxy is available on Telstra Freedom Connect plans $59, with $550 of calls, unlimited standard national text and 1.5GB of data in Australia and it can also be purchased on a business plan.

However, to buy Ace outright will set you back $ $528.

“The GALAXY Ace is a great-looking smartphone that’s easy to personalise thanks to its Android 2.2 operating software,” said Andrew Volard, Director Telstra Mobility.

It”offers a premium mobile experience in a compact and comfortable handset that doesn’t compromise on capabilities or performance.”

“It offers access to thousands of fun apps and games from Android Market and one-touch access to Google services like YouTube and Gmail,” he added.
