JB Hi Fi Expands Into Commercial Sales Custom Install and Fit Out Offered

JB Hi-Fi who traditionally trade in the consumer market, is set to expand into the commercial and custom install market with a 30 strong team of executives selling into hospitals, clubs, pubs and commercial entities wanting volume orders of goods.

.The mass retailer said that the B Hi-Fi Commercial Division can now provide a full range of electrical products to hotel and motel groups, serviced apartments, pubs and clubs and that the commercial range will also include LED and LCD ‘hotel specific’ televisions and projectors through to smaller items such as bar fridges and microwave ovens.

Terry Smart the CEO of JB Hi Fi said that the commercial division was now a key part of JB HI Fi’s expansion plans.

Recently the Company appointed Robert Mittag as General Manager of the division.

Smart claims that Mittag has a brief to not only expand the division but introduce new disciplines to the operation so that they can sell online to commercial organisations such as mining Companies that are in remote locations.

“We have the buying power and if a Company wants us to quote on a specific product range we are in a position to do this because of our size and buying capability”. he said

Smart said that the Company now had sales reps on the road visiting commercial organisations. They also have a team that chases government and commercial tenders.

The retail group is also offering custom install services to the fit out of commercial locations. Earlier this month the Company opened a new flagship store in Sydney following an extensive fit out. 

The Company said that once a JB Hi Fi commercial customer has identified their needs JB Hi Fi then briefs “one of their experienced, qualified installers with the exact needs of their customer”. The Company said.


“We visit the site with them, to show them exactly what is required. And, once they’ve done their job, we go over the installation, with them, on site to ensure customers are getting what they asked for”.


It is not known whether JB Hi Fi will use CEDIA certified installers for specific jobs.


The Company has also renamed a business formerly known as Rocket Replacements as JB Hi-Fi Insurance Replacements.

Rocket, has been providing Insurance replacement of entertainment products since 1996. The Company was acquired by JB Hi Fi in 2005.

 

 

The Company said that JB Hi-Fi Insurance Replacements is now the leading replacement group for entertainment products in Australia and New Zealand.

As part of their commercial offering JB Hi Fi said that they now have more than 30 people in a customer service and quoting team.

JB Hi Fi said that they can integrate their system into a customer’s system for instant quotes or status updates.

It is not known what the projected revenues are for the commercial side of the JB hi Fi business.
