Motorola Razr Close To Getting Android 4.03
0Overall Score

Motorola is close to releasing an Android 4.0 upgrade for their popular Razr smartphone.

In recent days a leaked build has emerged of Android 4.0.3 for the extra-thin Razr smartphones. The firmware was clearly unfinished but it did have a cellular radio baseband and a new version of the Webtop pseudo-desktop interface.

Australian customers may have to wait longer for the upgrade as carriers often want to test the latest version of software being put on their network and this can take up to 16 weeks.

In the USA, corroborated leaks from Best Buy have suggested the updates could arrive next week. Whether or not this was final, however, wasn’t apparent. A soak test would have to start in advance to make sure that it was safe enough for widespread use. With only a few days at most to run the soak test, it’s possible that only some testers might have Android 4.0 by the April 4 schedule rather than mainstream users.
