Nokia 'Symbian Anna' E6, X7 To Hit Spring

The Finnish giant has just revealed two new handsets to hit Oz.

The E6 (pictured) and X7 will both run on the latest version of Symbian OS new icons and improvements like faster text, browser and new Ovi Maps.

The E6 is for business, a follow on from E71 and E72, while the Nokia X7 is for pleasure and “entertainment enthusiasts”, in particular and are the first phones with updates to hit OZ shores, nicknamed Symbian Anna.

E6 also a full QWERTY keypad and a high res touch display and offers “best out-of-the-box” Microsoft messaging experience for business and has a suite of other MS tools including Exchange, Communicator Mobile and SharePoint, and looks like a Blackberry.

Symbian also boasts software security with hardware accelerated encryption, and e-mail features full meeting request support, making it handy for business users.

The device which Nokia promises to be compact and sturdy made from glass and stainless steel and has “exceptional” battery life.

The X7 is a phone for gamers, boasts a large 4 inch display, and an 8 MP camera and HD video -quality, ideal for watching movies and other downloads. It also comes with 8 GB memory card and support up to 32 GB.

It also comes comes preloaded with Galaxy on Fire and Asphalt 5 HD games. and for social networkers, has Facebook and Twitter feeds on the homescreen.

And good news for Nokia users: Symbian Anna, will also be available on N8, E7, C7 and C6-01 devices, as well as available to download on older models.

And the phone maker are hoping these latest releases will help it spar against the might of smartphone rivals running  on Android OS as well as Apple iOs.

The new devices will be here in Q3 from “selected operators’, although there’s no hint as to exactly whether the giant has penned exclusive deals and no pricing details have been disclosed either.
