The Sharp Smart TV has in-built web browser to hit Google, YouTube, Facebook and other content, Wi-Fi, Full HD (1080p) and 3D viewing technology.

The 90″ AQUOS 3D LED TV (LC-90LE745U) boasts active 3D with twice the resolution of passive 3D systems, says Sharp.

It also has a pair of 3D glasses to convert 2D to 3D viewing.

The mammoth TV also has a ‘Smart Central’ hub from which you can access all your TV apps, videos music and games and video-on demand from YouTube and Hulu.

The TV is like a little person and stands at nearly 4 feet tall spanning 6 feet and 8 inches wide, but  weighs only 141 lbs (without stand) and less than 5 inches deep with a brushed aluminum black bezel.

“Sit as close as you like, and see colours pop and never before seen details become visible. Sports and action sequences are as big as life,” says Sharp.

It’s easy to mount on a wall and with LED technology it’s energy efficient, using less energy than two 75-watt light bulbs and averages $28 to operate a year, say its makers.

It is also equipped with AquoMotion 240 to make fast-action motions without blurring – handy for action movies or sports with quick camera movements.

“Our 90″ class LED smart TV offers size, picture quality and smart functionality unlike anything consumers have experienced with LED TVs to-date,” said John Herrington, president, Sharp Electronics Marketing.

Sharp’s new 90″ class LED TV is a full HD active 3DTV and two 3D glasses are included.

This mammoth 90″ screen costs an eye watering US$10, 999 and is available only in the States at present but there are several other affordable screen sizes including a 40″ for a $699.

No word from Sharp Oz if the mammoth LED is winging its way Down Under, yet.
