And its faster and smarter than its original, can it outwit the iPad 2 if the new specs doing the rounds are brought to life by the Korean tech house.

The second Galaxy tab installation, which according to insiders runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with Honeycomb upgrade option, 3D display, rear (8-megapixel) and front (3-megapixel) camera, 1GB of RAM, WiFi and Bluetooth v3.0 is said to see the light of day at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February.

Other quirks include a barometer and compass in case users get lost downtown perhaps.

The device, which promises a 7″ (2048 x 1200) Super AMOLED Plus display screen, has been branded ‘too good to be true’ by some within the industry, who doubt Samsungs follow-up tab could outwit the iPad2.

‘If Apple can’t make it financially feasible to put a Retina Display in the iPad 2, it’s very unlikely that Samsung can,” claims Geek.com.

Samsung original Galaxy tab, released here last year is curretnly available on Optus, Telstra and Vodafone.

The MWC is the CES of the mobile world, displaying the latest trends on Smartphones, behind-the-scenes chips and processors.

The notebook giant released a YouTube teaser offering viewers quick glimpses of the new tab along with the words “It still does anything.”

Samsung’s much anticipated new Smartphone the S5830, or Galaxy Ace (originally thought to be called the Galaxy S Mini) is also rumoured to be making its debut at the show.
