Big Pond TV, Plus7, The Wiggles: Samsung grabs a slew of new apps as the content battle intensifies.
Its Smart TV app menu will soon boast five new smart apps-offering on-demand services from BigPond Movies, TV and Sport, Wiggle Time TV, PLUS7 and even a Music Hub.

But its not just on your web enabled Smart TV or LED (2010/11 range) – these content apps can be used on “select” Galaxy smartphones (S,S II, W, Note), Tabs (Galaxy 7.0, 8.9,10.1) and Blu-ray home theatre systems.

The massive Telstra BigPond app offers Movies, TV and Sport, lets viewers watch free to air and “internet-exclusive” content.

You download movies from BigPond Movies and watch seven BigPond TV internet channels including: Sport, Music, News, V8 Supercars, Horse Racing, AFL and NRL channels.

However, don’t rush to your Samsung device just yet – these apps are all set to hit screens in the coming months, with no precise release date given.

And for music lovers, Samsung’s subscription based Music Hub offers access to millions of tracks and music videos, which can be streamed in high quality HD (720p) with an average of 40 new videos added per week.

A mobile subscription to Music Hub will set you back $10 per month, while premium service costs $15 pm.
