Well almost. Apple Store invasion continues as it sets up a shop beside China’s Forbidden City in Beijing.
Apple’s latest Chinese retail venture opened up Saturday last at 9am local time, with around 100 fans waiting outside to get their hands on the latest ‘i’ devices, according to local media reports.

Located at Wangfujing shopping district in Beijing,  the gargantuan store employs 300 staff and is within walking distance of the Forbidden City, located in the middle of the Chinese capital.

It is also among three in the world to boast a three story staircase and is its largest store in Asia, covering an area of 2,300m2, has two 360-degree Genius Bars and one floor dedicated to service.

The opening went off without the near-riot chaos which has typified previous Apple launches for iPhones and iPads.

There are now six Apple retail stores in China, its second biggest market outside the US, CEO Tim Cook revealed earlier this year.

China is also predicted to consume hundreds of millions of smartphones in the coming years, says analysts.

Recently Apple opened two new stores here in Oz, at Canberra and Perth, WA, with another tipped to open in Melbourne.
