According to AdNews, Fairfax has opened its Sydney Morning Herald brand to advertising tenders, with a decision on the winner expected imminently.
An initial list of five agencies has been reduced to three, with the incumbent, Host, believed to be among the shortlisted agencies.
Host and The Glue Society’s latest work for the SMH include a consumer campaign for the Sun Herald and the “Creatures” trade campaign.
Host has been playing hot potato with the SMH account for years, losing the account to Saatchi & Saatchi in 2004 before winning it back a year later.
Leo Burnett picked up the digital side of the account in mid-2006.
Fairfax Media declined to comment.
