The three tax software packages; Accountants Office Tax, Classic Tax, and Solution 6 Tax have been updated with Australian Tax Office and legislative changes to cater for the Income year to 30 June 2005. Classic Tax can be downloaded now from the MYOB website, and the other software packages are being distributed by CD so that all clients will receive their software by 30 June.

With the up and coming end of financial year everyone is eager to ensure taxes are lodged correctly. According to ATO figures, in the last financial year approximately 9 million tax lodgements have been delivered to the ATO using the MYOB products Accountants Office, Classic Tax and Solution 6 Tax. This figure is over 3 million more than any other software provider.

The accuracy rates of these lodgements has also been impressive, with Classic Tax and Solution 6 Tax achieving a rejection rate of just 1.63 per cent and 1.75 per cent respectively – the lowest rejection rates among leading tax software providers.

Tim Reed, General Manager – Accountants Division, MYOB Australia commented, “2004 was a watershed year for MYOB’s tax products. Not only did MYOB’s market share and accuracy, as evidenced by our share of lodgements and the low rejection rates for returns, confirm our position as market leader, but to our knowledge we are the first provider to release an independently certified, SQL tax application.

“This year’s software has been updated with all the relevant legislative changes for the 2005 income year. And, as usual, all MYOB clients will receive their updated software by 30 June, in time for the new tax year. “
