LG, who are claiming high in the mobile stakes, has just been picked up “exclusively” by Telstra for its Optimus G phone “that has it all” .
|Hello OZ: LG Optimus G here in March|
LG announces the exclusive partnership with Telstra today for its “superphone”. No other carriers will stock the Android LG Optimus G, an LG executive told SmartHouse, which will be released in March.
The Optimus G “has it all” says its maker, and it pretty much has:
4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS (1280×768) display, 4G, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13 MP camera (iPhone 5, Samsung S III have just 8MP), Dual Play/Dual Screen, and 2,100mAh battery for longer talk time.
It runs the latest Android 4.1 Jellybean, has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB2.0 HS, QuickMemo, QSlide.
However, the LG exec would not confirm a precise date and no pricing is known either.
Optimus G is “LG’s most advanced smartphone to date” and was recognised at CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards for its technical specifications.
“This isn’t just another high-performance phone with the latest bells and whistles,” says Lambro Skropidis, Marketing Manager at LG Australia, “it’s a collaboration of some of the best component makers on the planet coming together for a singular cause; to develop a smartphone that truly stands out from its competitors and offers consumers practical features.”
“Telstra 4G is the perfect complement for the Optimus G.”
The Optimus G has been available Korean market, US and Japan. Reviews from the US says it is “fastest Android smartphone on the market, by a longshot” and puts it on par with HTC One X superphone.
