Sung to the music of controversial star Lady GaGa’s hit song ‘Telephone’, “Vodafail; The musical; A Tribute to 3 & Vodafone Australia” was masterminded by TVLiveOnStage comedy duo Scott Dawkins and Sheona Urquhart.

Vodafail didn’t have anything to do with the sensational show, it told SmartHouse today, but agreed it was “awesome.”

The video begins with Vodafone’s CEO Nigel Dews giving an address to customers about the issues that have plagued the carrier over the past year, and the comedians singing over it “Hello, hello baby bay I can’t hear a thing,” and continues on with other hilarious lines like “No, my phone is not f***** up, it’s cos I’m with 3.”

Other classic lines include “I swear this phone has never had more than 2 bars!”

Towards the end of the song it delves into the merger between Vodafone and 3, asking “Are you sure you want to do this merger with 3?”

Dawkins told the SMH that they came up with the idea when they were trying to plan their show last year but calls kept dropping out.

“It wasn’t until the whole Vodafail website happened that we realised we weren’t the only ones living the joke – that’s why we ended up doing the full video,” he said.

One viewer of the video wrote: “I used to get no reception in my house lol go vodafail”

Vodafail.com was set up by disgruntled Vodafone customers in response to the litany of service issues, including call failures, slow data speeds and poor reception experienced .

“We’ve been working hard to improve our network and service but still have work to do”  said Nigel Dews, VHA CEO, who blamed the problems on network upgrades and overcapacity.

Just last week, it announced a network upgrade will have 2G, 3G, 4G or LTE capabilities.
