Xbox 360's Over Heating
0Overall Score

It seems the problems some early Xbox 360 owners have experienced with gameplay freezing could be related to a faulty power supply over heating.

Reported here, one owner discovered if he raised the power supply unit off the ground by suspending it with string, the console worked fine.

Other gamers are straddling the unit’s power supply over an empty box to increase airflow around the external power pack.

Since Microsoft’s second generation games console was released in the US last week, gaming forums have been awash with people complaining about the screens freezing during game play.

If the problem is heat related, the news is good for Microsoft averting an expensive possible recall of the console itself as compared to issuing a new power supply to unhappy owners.
