0Overall Score

Look out Samsung, Chinese mobile giant are entering the Aussie phone market. And will smash smartphone prices by the looks of it.

The 5.5″ Grand X2 L hits Dick Smith for a cool $299, in the coming weeks.
For the price, it has excellent specs – quad core processor and runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2, has a 5MP camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and a 5.5″ QHD screen.
The ZTE smartphone, that comes in white-only, will be sold at Dick Smith exclusively. ZTE is the ninth largest smartphone maker, globally, according to Canalys.

ZTE also claims the battery lasts for 20 hours talk time.

However, there are two drawbacks – it runs 2G/3G only (so no 4G, people), and does not offer Android upgrades.
But probably one of the most attractive feature about this smartie is the price – it costs $299, so it will be interesting to see how the quality of this Android measures up against Samsung and HTC devices.
