The G75VW and G55VW are the fifth generation of notebooks under Asus’ Republic of Gamers G series. Both notebooks use Intel’s 3rd-gen i7 processors clocked at 2.3GHz (Turbo 3.3G), feature Full HD screens and Active Shutter 3D technology.

The G75VW is higher up in the range than its G55VW sibling, benefitting from up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, 3GB DDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX670M graphics, and a screen that spans 17.3 inches. In comparison, the G55VW has 12GB of RAM, 2GB DDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX660M graphics and its screen stretches 15.6″.

Asus has strived to make these computers ideal for prolonged periods of gaming: they have a single-piece back lit keyboard distinguished by isolated navigational keys; rubberised soft-touch palm rests; a wide viewing angle and an inclined, ergonomic profile.

Both computers incorporate a new intelligent thermal design that channels heat away from the gamer. The G55VW utilises a pair of fans to increase thermal efficiency, while the G75VW features dedicated fans for its CPU and GPU, complete with detachable fan filters.

When designing the new notebooks, Asus took inspiration from stealth aircrafts. The prominent lines forge sharp angles that, coupled with the dark grey colour, do bare a resemblance.

The Asus G75VW and G55VW will be available from JB HiFi and Harvey Norman later this month and have a $2,499 introductory price tag. Following is a break down of each models respective specifications:
