On Optus the iPhone 4S is free on its $79 cap plan over 24 months, offering $900 cap value and 3GB of internet allowance. The phone will be available with Optus on $49, $59, $79 and $99 cap plans over 2 years.

In contrast, Vodafone will offer the 16GB iPhone 4S from $29 with a $15 instalment for the phone extra per month: $5 cheaper per month than Optus’ lowest plan.

The 16GB iPhone 4 will be available free on Voda’s $59 cap plan over 24 months.

“We are delivering customers the value they expect from Vodafone, so customers will be able to do more with their iPhone for less,” said John Casey, Director of Marketing at Vodafone.

Although less than 4 days away Telstra has yet to announce its iPhone 4S pricing.

Apple is offering the 4S outright at $799 (16GB), $899 (32GB) and $999 (64GB). The phone will be unlocked and comes with a 2 year warranty. Current shipping times range between 1-2 weeks.

The introduction of the iPhone 4S to Apple’s range has seen the iPhone 4 to drop down in price.

Telstra is the only major telco who has not announced pricing of the phone, which is due out in just four days (Oct 14th).
