Photo Industry distributor Maxwell International is shutting up shop as of the end of April.
The Company currently distributes Lowepro, Joby, Tamron, Velbon, Lexar and a number of other brands. Both the Lowepro and Joby brands will now be distributed by Europe distributor TNS Distribution who are a major partner with Apple.
Three years go TNS acquired Connexus a Sydney based distributor.
Jeff Colton, CEO of DayMen and Director of Maxwell International, a wholly-owned DayMen subsidiary, stated that DayMen, owners of the Lowepro and JOBY brands, has corporately decided to concentrate on brand development and design. In Australia, that will mean an end to distribution
through DayMen’s own subsidiary, Maxwell. From May 2nd, distribution will be through an exclusive national distributor.
Mr Colton emphasised that the Australian business had operated since it was formed in 2006 as a
continuously profitable operating entity.
Mr Colton announced that from May 2nd an existing strong distribution partner headquartered in Europe, TNS Distribution, would become the Australian distributor for Lowepro and JOBY. TNS Connect, the Australian TNS company, is a leading distributor to Consumer Electronics retailers
across the country, as well as many major photographic groups.
Mr Colton, who is visiting Australia this week, made the announcement to all Maxwell staff on Thursday morning, 31st March.

TNS Founders, John McHugh & Ivan Eustace said from the company’s Irish headquarters, “We have partnered with DayMen for a number of years now in the supply of JOBY products to the global retail network.
