Here comes iPad..but is Apple TV also to be revealed Wednesday next?

And its not just some second rate blogger who is singing this TV tune – it is Apple news source 9to5Mac, who says ‘reliable sources’  are telling them for definite a J33, which is codename for Apple TV, will in fact be one of the device’s you can “see and touch.”

According to 9to5:

“The new Apple TV is rumored to include a faster processor, possibly a variation of the dual-core A5 chip. The dual-core A5 chip has been said to be required for the Apple TV to finally stream 1080p quality video, but Apple is also working on an “A5X” chip that is dual-core, which also includes an improved graphics engine.”

Apple’s March 07 event invitation, which everyone believes is the iPad 3 launch states: “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”

But as per other Apple invitations it has not specifically stated that it is a tablet that will be pulled out of its box of tricks next Wednesday, to keep us all guessing.

Or at least not an iPad alone will be unveiled as it does appear to be a tablet screen on the invitation.

The unveiling will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10 a.m. PST.

An iTunes movie service, Siri voice assistant and Bluetooth 4.0 are also thought to be part of the Apple TV mix.

Others on the rumour mill believe the mystery device will just be an updated version of Apple’s set top box while some believe and Apple TV will be a full on 42″ set with a 16:9 display.

But it looks like Apple’s TV launch next week is almost definitely (maybe) on the cards.

On the iPad front, 9to5 also reckons there will be a few iPad variants of different screen sizes, which is what other sources have been saying for weeks.

And fear not Aussie Apple lovers, it appears the iPad will be available almost immediately after launch. But just expect queues, queues and more queues.
