LCD screen, In Cell Touch, 13MP camera: LG’s secret weapon smartie has landed.
Announced in Korea earlier today, 4.7″ LG Optimus G has specs only iPhone et al can dream about – including a potent 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 4G LTE, a phenomenal 13MP (rear) camera (beating Samsung’s new S3 8MP) and full HD LCD IPS screen (1280 x 768 pixels).

In other words, its a mobile with the same screen quality as a HD LCD TV, works four times as fast as many smartphones and is one of the slimmest devices to hold.

LG has been keeping schtum about its mobile strategy for week now, and although hinted at the coming of the wonder device.

Its runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, is skinny at 8mm thin thanks to its in cell touch technology that integrates touch sensors into the LCD  – possibly one of the biggest breakthoroughs of all Optimus G features –  that allows for a thinner body.

In-cell technology also rumoured to be hitting iPhone 5.

LG Australia say they are awaiting confirmation “G” is coming Down Under, so we’ll let you know as soon as we get the nod.
