Lenovo has announced a new all-in-one device that is designed to help make conference rooms smarter.
Unveiled at the Microsoft Ignite conference, the ThinkSmart Hub 500 is a ‘Skype Room Systems’ device that allows remote and local participants to connect to Skype for Business meetings, and share content without involving personal laptop screen sharing or additional cables.
“One obvious need for change is in how meetings are conducted, including the ongoing issue of the wrong technology to get meetings started quickly. This wasted time can cost businesses millions in lost productivity, so we’re thrilled the ThinkSmart Hub 500 can help solve that issue,” said Lindsay Tobin, Product Marketing Manager, Commercial Business Segment, Lenovo PCSD.
The ThinkSmart Hub 500 was developed in cooperation with Microsoft and runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, and is designed for use in huddle and medium-sized meetings rooms.
It features a 11.6-inch touch display with 360-degree rotation, Dolby Audio Premium sound and 360-degree array microphones.
“Lenovo consistently delivers innovative devices and solutions that meet the unique needs of business customers, and the ThinkSmart Hub 500 is no exception,” said Peter Han, Vice President, Partner Devices and Solutions, Microsoft.
“This second-generation Skype Room Systems solution from Lenovo will transform meeting rooms, and enable rich collaborative Skype for Business experiences,” Han added.
Lenovo will make the Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub 500 available through pilot programs beginning later this year, with pricing and availability expected in Q1 2018.
