Samsung Australia has marked its expansion into the healthcare industry, with the debut of its first annual Healthcare Smart Summit in Sydney earlier this week.

The event features a suite of major healthcare organisations and solution partners, in addition to the display of new technology used in a clinical trial with St Vincent’s Hospital Department of Pain Medicine and UNSW Art and Design.

The clinical trial evaluates the use of VR (virtual reality) concerning acute pain management via Samsung’s Gear VR headsets and smartphones.

Samsung Australia’s Vice President of Business and Enterprise Mobility, Steven Sherry:

“We strive to develop technology that improves the lives of Australians, and this is never more important than when it comes to health and wellbeing”

“We’re thrilled that through the Smart Summit we’re able to bring so many experts together, encouraging a culture of collaboration that will potentially help the healthcare community in Australia and around the world”.
