Acer To Expand LCD TV Share

Acer is set to dramatically grow its share of the LCD TV market.

Driven by surging demand for LCD TVs, Acer expects to ship 500,000 LCD TVs globally this year, up significantly from 150,000 units in 2005. In Australia Acer is looking for 35% growth as well as the #1 spot in LCD TV’s according to the company. They are also set to expand their presence in the projector market. In 2005 Acer were the #1 LCD TV shipper in the third quarter.

During a Chinese New Year presentation Acer Australia CEO Charles Chung said that the Company was in an excellent position to grow “particularly in the LCD TV, Projector and Notebook markets”.
