The store on Sydney’s George St, which is in town for one week only is “going off” in a big way, say sources with the 8am line up for free phones causing somewhat of a scrum.

One avid fan is said to have flown in from Melbourne to avail of the freebie Galaxy S II devices Samsung are giving away for $2 every day to first ten entrants into the store.

Another “mad fanatic” was seen queuing for the 8am store opening overnight and “tweeting his head off” while in the line, Samsung sources tell us. (Well, that’s one way to stay awake)

The enthused fan started queueing at 7pm yesterday…preparing for an overnight vigil for the free Galaxy smartphone.

Samung’s pop up store is promoting its new Music Hub service for Australia, launched last week, although has not been heavily promoted.

“Despite this activation being kept relatively low key, people are finding out about this store and the 10 x $2 Galaxy SII promo each day,” our source added.
